The Hindu in final

VISAKHAPATNAM: Defending champion The Hindu made its third successive entry into the final of CMR-VJF inter-media cricket tournament, with a 27-run win over Andhra Jyoti in the semifinals here on Friday.

The scores: The Hindu 180 for three in 20 overs (S.K.A. Hussain 70 not out, K.R. Deepak 30, Sumit Bhattacharjee 29) bt Andhra Jyoti 153 for five in 20 overs (Sudheer 70, Pradeep 27, Srinivas 26).

The Visakhapatnam District Cricket Association is conducting a coaching camp for boys under-15 (born on or after Sept. 1, 1993) and under-17 (born on or after Sept. 1, 1991) during the summer.

Interested have to register their names between 10 a.m. and noon on March 9 at one of these venues: ACA-VDCA stadium, GVMC stadium, Ukku stadium or Zinc stadium.

A. Bhavani and M.S.K. Harika of Siva Sivani School Marripalem in Visakhapatnam were runner-up and third in the ninth South Zone carom championships held at Puducherry recently. The Uttarandhra seniors’ boxing meet will be conducted by the Danayya Memorial Boxing Club at Rajanivanipalem, Kothavalasa mandal, Vizianagaram district, from March 19 to 21. The medical weigh-in will be held at the Railway Stadium in Visakhapatnam from 8 a.m. on March 18
