Rajath, Agni take honours

CHENNAI: A. Rajath Kamal of St. Joseph’s College of Engineering and U.V. Agni (MOP Vaishnav) clinched the boys’ and girls’ titles respectively in the first Jiwan Mal Nahata inter-collegiate table tennis tournament here on Saturday.

The results: Boys: Final: A. Rajath Kamal (St. Joseph’s) bt T. Raghuram (SSN) 11-5, 11-7, 8-11, 13-11, 8-11, 11-2. Semifinals: Rajath bt R.S. Raja (SSN) 7-11, 11-6, 11-9, 8-11, 13-11, 11-5; Raghuram bt R. Abhishek (Loyola) 13-11, 11-7, 10-12, 11-8, 8-11, 6-11, 11-9.

Girls: Final: U.V. Agni (MOP Vaishnav) bt A.V. Nivedita (MOP) 11-8, 10-12, 11-7, 11-8, 13-11. Semifinals: Nivedita bt V.S. Nirupama (SSN) 11-8, 11-6, 12-10, 11-9; Agni bt Nishanti Kumaravel (MOP) 7-11, 11-5, 7-11, 11-6, 11-3, 11-7.
