PDP expels senior leader

SRINAGAR: The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Sunday expelled one of its founder-members and a former Minister, Ghulam Hassan Mir, on charges of indiscipline. Mir is presently MLA from Tangmarg Assembly segment.

According a PDP spokesman, the expulsion orders were issued by senior party leader and Agriculture Minister Abdul Aziz Zargar after consulting the PDP president Mehbooba Mufti. Mr. Zargar is the chairman of disciplinary committee which had been keeping an eye on the “anti-party” activities of Mr. Mir for the last many months.
