PANAJI: Goa Chief Minister Digambar Kamat on Wednesday inducted Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) MLA Ramkrishna Dhavlikar into his Cabinet to end the political uncertainty over accommodation of one of the members of the two-member MGP, a coalition partner in the Congress-led government. The beleaguered Chief Minister’s political troubles may be far from over as Minister for Transport Pandurang Madkaikar of the Congress, who was dropped on Wednesday to make way for Mr. Dhavlikar, has accused the Chief Minister of acting against the backward communities to which he belongs. Mr. Madkaikar later addressed presspersons to indicate his desire to rebel against the decision to drop him. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
