BERLIN: One of the world’s largest private insurers plans to offer natural disaster and accident insurance in parts of India hit by the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami for under 10 euro cents (15 U.S. cents) a month. The microinsurance project, announced by Germany’s Allianz and aid agency CARE International, hopes to attract two lakh customers aged 18 to 70 within a year among vulnerable people in four regions south of Chennai. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
