MANGALORE: Canara Engineering College (Benjanapadavu) and Kasturba Medical College (Manipal) posted contrasting wins in their respective fixtures in the ongoing Twenty20 cricket tournament for the Ace Surgical Cup at Nehru Maidan here on Wednesday. While Canara drubbed S.C.S. College of Nursing by nine-wickets riding on the brilliance of Sashvath 37 and Sujith Prabhu 59 n.o., KMC laboured to a three-wicket win over National Institute of Technology – Karnataka (Srinivasnagar). The scores: SCS 113 for six in 20 overs (Sonu K.M. 41, Sashvath two for 14, Sanath two for 21) lost to Canara 116 for one in 11.2 overs (Sujith Prabhu 59 n.o., Sashvath 37); NIT-K ‘A’ 118 for three in 20 overs (Ajay Pai 47 n.o., Vivekdas Gupta 21) lost to KMC 120 for seven in 16.5 overs (Abdul Adam 38, Prabhath 24, Naveen B.P. three for 28, Shodhan D’ Souza two for 13).
