Air India advances

Bangalore: Alim Yates all-round show (46 and four for 22) went in vain as his team SWRI lost to Air India by 37 runs in a KSCA Group II, second division league match here recently.

Air India scored 146 for eight in 23 overs and restricted SWRI to 109 for nine in 23 overs.

Air India entered the quarterfinals.

BHEL (EPD) SC 202 for five in 30 overs (M. Ramesh 62 n.o., Govindappa 46) lost to ITC SC 203 for eight in 29.2 overs (N. Ramesh 41).

KSRTC SC 104 in 27.3 overs lost to BEML SC 105 for three in 19.4 overs.

Secretariat CC 132 in 26 overs (Vijaya Narasimha 54) lost to BEML Rail Coach SC 135 for four in 23.4 overs (Mohan Kumar 45 n.o., A. Manohar 42).

Budweiser football

Interested football fans can register for the Budweiser 6v6 Cup 2008 at the Bud Cup truck which will be at the Garuda Mall, Bangalore, on Saturday (March 15) from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Lido Mall, (near Trinity Circle, Old Madras Road) on Sunday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and at Cognizant office (Bagmane Tech Park) on Monday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Registration forms for up to six amateur players to register as a team and participate in the unique international tournament are available.

Regional winners in each centre will participate in the national final to be played in Mumbai in April and the champion outfit later will travel to Manchester to compete against 17 other teams from all over the world.
