Expensive phone stolen

CHENNAI: An expensive cellular phone, which was imported and kept in the detention cage at the courier terminal of the old airport, Meenambakkam, was stolen.

Customs authorities said three Apple iphones were imported by an individual. The shipment arrived in Chennai more than a week ago. It was opened by the Customs for value reassessment and was repacked and handed over to the custodian of the courier terminal. A few days later, the consignment was released and handed over to the consignee.
