BJP moves no-confidence motion against Rane, Mauvin Godinho

PANAJI: The Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had moved a notice of no-confidence motion against Legislative Assembly Speaker Pratapsinh Rane and Deputy Speaker Mauvin Godinho early this week.

The notice, moved through the Legislature Secretary of the Goa Assembly, has expressed the desire of the Opposition to move a motion of no confidence expressing distrust in both the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker.

The notice of the motion is signed by the Leader of Opposition Manohar Parrikar and seconded by MLA Damodar Naik. The budget session of the State Legislative Assembly is scheduled to begin on March 24.
