Road accidents claim three lives in Kasaragod

KASARAGOD: Three youths were killed in accidents at different places in the district on Thursday night and Friday.

A Plus One student was killed and three others were injured when a lorry hit an autorickshaw on Mangalore-Kasaragod national highway at Kumbla at around midnight on Thursday.

The victim has been identified as B. Dhanush (17), a native of Uppala.

Hospitalised

Autorickshaw driver Subrahmanya (35), and passengers Ramesh (27) and Satheesan (37) were injured. They have been admitted to a private hospital in Mangalore.

Train accident

In another accident at Pervad, Kumbla, a passenger train going to Mangalore hit a boy when he was crossing the railway track on Friday morning.

The deceased, identified as Navaz (13), was a seventh standard student of Kumbla government upper primary school.

Secretary of Muslim Youth League Badiadka town committee, A. Jamal, was killed when a jeep hit the bike he was riding at Vidyagiri, Badiadka, on Friday morning.

Mr. Jamal who was the pump operator at Badiadka was going to office when the accident occurred.
