CPM urges Centre to coordinate probe

Bangalore: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has demanded that the Centre coordinate the investigation into the March 9 attack on its State secretary’s residence in Bangalore.

Speaking to presspersons here on Friday, State secretary V.J.K. Nair said that Central intervention was necessary because some of the attackers, allegedly Sangh Parivar activists, were from Kerala.

Though the attackers were suspected to be fugitives from Kannur in Kerala, it was the Karnataka Sangh Parivar leaders who had provided support, sheltered them and “engineered” the attack, Mr. Nair alleged.

CPM Central Committee member G.N. Nagaraj said that Chikmagalur MLA C.T. Ravi of the Bharatiya Janata Party had exhorted women to “wield trishuls” and eliminate communists.

This, he said, was an “open call to violence” and action should be initiated against him.
