BJP MLA suspended from A.P. House

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: BJP legislator G. Kishan Reddy was suspended from the Assembly for the day on Friday as he obstructed the proceedings of the House demanding a discussion on statehood for Telangana, an issue over which his party gave a call for bandh in the region.

Mr. Reddy held a placard and stood near his seat while urging Speaker K. R. Suresh Reddy to admit his notice of adjournment motion to discuss the demand. The Speaker, however, turned it down.

The BJP member and Finance Minister K. Rosaiah were involved in a spat ahead of the suspension of the former. He was suspended when repeated pleas by the Minister and the Speaker failed.
