Sapthagiri in knockout phase

MANGALORE: Sapthagiri College of Hotel Management (Kavoor) booked its place in the knockout stage of the Twenty20 cricket tournament for the Ace Surgical Cup. It registered a five-wicket win over Canara Engineering College (Benjanapadavu) here on Friday.

The scores: Shree Devi 156 for 8 in 20 overs (Jaleel 41, Kalawar 36, Tushar two for 39, Sethu Satani three for 26) beat AJIMS 130 for 5 in 20 overs (Sethu Satani 53, Mahesh 21, Badruddin two for 26); Canara 151 for 5 in 20 overs (Sashwath 52, Sharath 35, Saiprasad two for 27) lost to Sapthagiri 152 for 5 in 18.2 overs (Rajesh Yadav 61, Resham 39 n.o., Sanath three for 31, Janan two for 32). — Staff Correspondent
