Mumbai: Mumbai Indians’ seven home DLF IPL Twenty20 matches and the semifinals and final of the competition will not be held at the Brabourne Stadium, Cricket Club of India. “It’s the right of the members of the CCI to see all matches from the Club House at the Brabourne and not pay for it. It’s their inherent right and protected in the bye-laws of the Club. “We informed the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) that since the members of the club are paramount we could only offer the stadium without handing over the Club House and the Member’s Children Enclosure. This offer was unacceptable to the IPL/MCA/MCA,” said Rajsingh Dungarpur, President, CCI. Rajsingh said that it is not proper to stage a match without the members being allowed to watch. “The CCI has an excellent relationship with the BCCI and MCA and this is not a confrontation,” he said. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
