HYDERABAD: The Union Bank of India, which has 152 branches in the State, plans to open another 40 branches and 100 ATMs in 2008-09. Chairman and Managing Director M. V. Nair told reporters here on Saturday that all the branches were networked under the Core Banking Solutions enabling the bank to offer quality services. After a successful trial of wage payment to NREGS beneficiaries through biometric smart card in Warangal district, the bank has introduced them in five more districts-- Karimnagar, Medak, Mahabubnagar, Chittoor and East Godavari. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
