Asian beach volleyball from April 3

HYDERABAD: The Asian beach volleyball championship for men and women will be organised by the AP Beach Volleyball Players Club at Necklace Road, here from April 3 to 6, G. Vinod, Minister for Labour and Employment and chief patron of the event, said.

The event will carry a winner’s purse of $6,000 each in men’s and women’s sections, while the second and third-placed teams would get $5,000 and $3000 each respectively.

Teams which have confirmed participation: India, Australia, New Zealand, China, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Iran, UAE, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Macau, Bahrain, Singapore, Malaysia, Qatar. — Principal Correspondent
