Avesh scalps six

VISAKHAPATNAM: Medium-pacer Avesh claimed six wickets to bowl Eastern Naval Command to a 175-run win over AP Eastern Power Distribution Company Ltd. in the VDCA institutions league cricket here on Saturday.

APEPDCL was shot out for 51 with Aktwar supplementing Avesh with two wickets. Earlier, ENC made 226 for eight and N. Abbas top-scored with 67 (7x4).

Meanwhile, Classic CC medium-pacer Madan had a five-wicket haul and Meher Chaitanya picked up four wickets as the team won by 27 runs over Champions CC in the fifth division clubs league.

Anthony Khan (55, 9x4, 1x6) and N. Chinna Babu (57, 8x3, 3x4) cracked half-centuries for Classic and Champions respectively.

The scores: ENC 226 for eight in 30 overs (N. Abbas 67, Yousuf 46) bt APEPDCL 51 in 12.1 overs (Avesh six for 19).
