Why can’t APSRTC have a traffic advisory committee just as the railways have one? Prominent citizens who frequently travel by the RTC buses can be its members, and their suggestions and guidelines can be implemented. Such committees should be constituted separately for city services and district services. The ‘Dial Your RM/DM’ doesn’t seem to serve the desired purpose. C. Ram Mohun Old HB Colony, Vijayawada Ayesha caseThe Ayesha Meera murder case is taking several twists and turns. What is surprising is the outburst of Ayesha’s mother, who is now accusing the Vijayawada Police and its chief C.V. Anand of “diluting” the probe. She has even demanded that Mr. Anand be subjected to narco analysis. How could any one forget that it was she who expressed complete faith in the investigative capabilities of Mr. Anand and insisted on the probe being handled by the city police only? Though her anguish is understandable, one can’t appreciate her for frequently shifting her stance. N. Vidyavani Krishnalanka, Vijayawada Install transpondersLeaving aside the quality of programmes, the relay quality of Doordarshan too is much low in the city. Though the Doordarshan is using qualitative equipment, the television viewers are unable to get qualitative picture and sound either from their cable connection or from the antenna. The transmission from Kondapalli tower has been hindered with shadows and bad reception. Installation of transponders atop the hill at Moghalrajapuram will solve the problem. Since it doesn’t cost much, I request the officials concerned to consider this option. Katragadda Narasayya Moghalrajapuram, Vijayawada © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
