St. John’s ES & JC wins

CHENNAI: Skipper Shikkar Hukku’s 73, studded with 14 hits to the fence, helped St. John’s ES and JC (Besant Nagar) snatch the vital first innings lead over Don Bosco and thereby emerge the winner in the final of the Godrej Cup under-14 Schools cricket tournament here recently.

The scores: St. John’s ES & JC 266 in 89.5 overs (Shikkar Hukku 73, P. Sajan 41, Geetpuri 49, D.S. Aswath 32) drew with Don Bosco 178 in 70.5 overs (Shahrukhkhan 42, Abdul Latheef 34, P.T. Sivanesan three for 49, Geetpuri three for 10), St. John’s declared winner on first innings lead.
