Daily wages fixed

KARUR: A recent meeting involving the construction industry stakeholders called here to discuss the wages for various sections of workers decided to fix Rs. 200 as daily wage for masons and Rs. 100 per day for female assistants. While carpenters would get Rs. 160 a day, painters would given Rs. 150 a day.

Members from the Karur District Civil Engineers’ Association, AITUC leaders, construction industry workers union, painters association, grille fabrication workers union and concrete mixer unit owners’ association participated in the meeting.
