Importance of women’s education stressed

PERAMBALUR: Bharathidasan University Vice-Chancellor M. Ponnavaikko has underlined the importance of women’s education for the overall development of society.

Delivering the special address at the annual day celebration of Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan College of Arts and Science for Women here recently, Dr. Ponnavaikko said a revolutionary approach must be adopted to bring about a radical change in the education system. Nano-technology and wireless technology would rule the world in future. Hence, college students must equip themselves with adequate knowledge.

In his presidential address, the former vice-principal of St. Joseph’s College G. Balakrishnan commended the achievements of students in different fields.

Dr. Ponnavaikko and Booma Ponnavaikko honoured university rank-holders and other academic toppers.
