NEW DELHI: Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) scored a thrilling 3-2 victory over Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) in the men’s final of the 29th Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB) badminton championship here on Tuesday. National champion Chetan Anand played his part well while Thomas Kurien and Rupesh Kumar asserted ONGC’s efficiency in the doubles. In the women’s final, Saina Nehwal gave a rousing start for Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) while Shruti Kurien and Jwala Gutta completed the job in the doubles for a 2-0 triumph over IOC. The results (finals): Men: ONGC bt IOC 3-2 (Thomas Kurien lost to Ajay Jayaram 16-21, 14-21; B. Chetan Anand bt R. Kashyap 22-20, 21-14; Siddhartha Jain lost to J.B.S. Vidyadhar 10-21, 19-21; V.
