CHENNAI: Various measures to reach out to underprivileged women and widows living with HIV/AIDS were discussed at a programme held in the city recently as part of the International Women’s Day celebrations. Organised jointly by non-govermental organisation Network for Chennai People Living with HIV/AIDS (NCP) and World Vision, the programme had about 300 women as participants. The NCP’s board member David Daisy said the meeting addressed issues such as provision of financial support to the women affected with AIDS and educational assistance to children to facilitate them to lead a quality life.
