KOCHI: Max New York Life Insurance has forayed into health insurance services and launched three schemes with a fixed premia for a five-year period. Rajender Sud, senior vice-president of the company, told mediapersons that health insurance penetration in the country was one of the lowest, at 1.2 per cent of the population, and there were large opportunities for the companies selling health insurance policies. The average premium worked to around Rs.3,500 for a sum assured of Rs.1 lakh under the Lifeline schemes, he said. He said the company was planning to enter the group insurance sector soon. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
