Seva awards

Chennai: The Confederation of Indian Organisations for Service and Advocacy (CIOSA) presented its second Seva Awards to corporates, non-governmental organisations, staff and students as part of the ‘mela’ for NGOs to exhibit their work and products held recently. The CIOSA Seva Award 2008 for Best Grass Root Worker was given to S.Muthulakshmi of Marialaya and T. Deepa of Bro.Sigamani Animation Centre. V. Krishnamurthy of Duraisamy Generous Charitable Organisation was given the Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Air Vice-Marshal V. Krishnaswamy Award was given to Professor Narayanan for starting an NGO after retiring as Tamil professor.

The awards for business houses went to the Murugappa Group and the Tex Biosciences (P) Limited.
