Joshna beats Dipika, reaches final

New Delhi: Joshna Chinappa swept aside compatriot Dipika Pallikal to set up a summit showdown with top seed Louise Crome in the final of the Vietnam Open in Hanoi on Wednesday.

Seeded fifth, Joshna took just 36 minutes to trounce her younger compatriot 9-6, 9-7, 9-4 in the semifinals.

In the other match of the day, Crome tamed fourth seed Donna Urquhart 9-4, 9-6, 9-3 in 41 minutes at the Hanoi Club. — PTI
