MCD zones to have vigilance officers

NEW DELHI: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has decided to deploy a vigilance officer in each of its 12 zones to keep a watch on de-sealing activities on non-notified roads.

This has been done in the light of complaints alleging public harassment over the de-sealing issue at the hands of civic body officials.

At a meeting of the Standing Committee on Wednesday, all Deputy Commissioners were also asked to submit a detailed report on de-sealing activities in their zones within a week.
