Rajesh nets seven

BANGALORE: Seven goals by Rajesh and four goals by S.P. Sunil helped Army XI trounce Kaveri Hockey Club 15-1 in the Travancore Cup hockey tournament at the KSHA Sadium here on Friday.

Rajesh struck in the 12th, 17th, 20th, 23rd, 25th, 49th and 58th minutes, while Sunil scored in the 3rd, 5th, 18th and 52nd minutes.

Suresh (28th & 44th) chipped in with a brace and Banti Singh (19th) and Armugam (21st) sounded the boards once each. Ranju Nanjappa (48th) scored Kaveri HC’s lone goal.

In the second fixture Rail Wheel Factory beat South Western Railway 2-1. Imran (4th) and Sriram (6th) scored in quick succession for the winner, while Hassan Ali (27th) reduced the margin.
