Armaan suffers a collision, to start 14th

CHENNAI: Armaan Ebrahim suffered a collision that put him out of the race on Saturday in the GP2 Asia series at the Sepang International circuit and cost him a pole position for Sunday’s sprint races.

According to information reaching here on Saturday, Armaan had progressed well in wet conditions to move up from 25th on the grid to the eighth place.

Out-braked

With five laps to go, there was a collision when Karun Chandhok who was behind Armaan, out-braked himself. Both the cars in the process went out of the race.

Consequent to this, Armaan will start 14th in Sunday’s event.

Speaking on the collision, Armaan said, “it was a racing incident as once he was on the wet side of the track he tried to out-brake me.

“He had no control over his car and we collided.

“It was frustrating as I knew there were just five laps to go,” Armaan said.
