Andhra Pradesh

Faulty financial policy

The government is extending loans on ‘pavala vaddi’ to women, subsidies to weaker sections, free power to farmers but is not disclosing the ways and means of filling up these ‘deficiencies’. Is it not a burden on the middle classes by way of taxation? Let any economist say that the government’s financial policy is correct.

Provide marriage certificates TTD

The TTD’s ‘Kalyanamasthu’ is not getting good response in some places of the State. To overcome this the TTD should form committees with the local people. This would ensure success to the much touted programme. I also request the TTD authorities to arrange for marriage certificates to be issued by competent authorities to the couples whose marriages are performed under Kalyanamasthu. I further request the TTD authorities to conduct the programmes related to Kadapa constituency at Devuni Kadapa TTD Kalyana Mandapam as there is a belief that performing a marriage at Devini Kadapa is as good as performing it at Tirumala itself .

Sitting ducks

It is disgusting to learn that Intermediate Ist year students had to sit on the floor and write their exam at some centres in Anantapur district. The students find it very uncomfortable sitting on the floor. This would obstruct their performance and they may end up faring poorly in the exams. Hope the authorities make necessary arrangements at least for the remaining exams.

G.Jagannadh,

Anantapur
