The Visakhapatnam Apartments Residents’ Welfare Association at its meeting at Maddilapalem on Sunday wanted the regularisation fee for the building penalisation scheme (BPS) under GO 112 to be reduced to a nominal amount from the steep Rs.20,000 for a flat and also extend the time for applying by a year. MLC M.V.S. Sarma who presided spoke about the unbearable burden on apartment residents owing to the heavy penalty.
