Sarathkumar unveils party policies

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: All-India Samathuva Makkal Katchi president Sarathkumar said on Sunday that no one in his party would occupy office for more than two terms, if it was voted to power.

Addressing a public meeting held here to explain the policies of his party, he said: “This law will apply for all, including Mr. Sarathkumar and his family, his ministers and even legislative members. After the expiry of the second term, we will work for the party.”

He revealed that he chose former Chief Minister K. Kamaraj as his role model, since the late leader had lived and worked for the poor. He said he floated the party, as he had not been given due respect by top leaders, despite his hard work, in the recent past.

Dig at Stalin

He took a dig at Local Administration Minister M.K. Stalin, saying he was ready to share the dais with him and answer all the questions.

As for the loan waiver scheme for farmers, Mr. Sarathkumar said it was aimed at garnering votes.
