D. Srinivas NEW DELHI: D. Srinivas, Higher Education Minister, was appointed Pradesh Congress Committee president on Tuesday, ending a six-month-long wait for filling a vacancy after his predecessor K. Keshava Rao resigned following his son’s involvement in a murder case. Mr. Srinivas’ appointment to the post was announced by State in-charge Veerappa Moily. In an informal interaction with the media, Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy said: “Mr. Srinivas is a good omen for me. We were a winning combination in the last elections and we hope to repeat the performance in the next polls.”The new PCC president had held the office at the time of the Assembly and Lok Sabha polls in 2004. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
