Protest against screening of film on Prabakaran

CHENNAI: A group of persons assembled in front of a film studio at Vadapalani and urged it to refrain from screening/processing a film titled “Prabakaran”, directed by a Sinhalese, here on Tuesday. A source in the Police Department said the group, including Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi functionary Vanniarasu, film director Seeman and Suba Veerapandian of Dravida Iyakka Tamizhar Peravai among others, said the film was critical of Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam leader V. Prabakaran.

“Public wrath”

Any attempts to screen the film would invite public wrath, they added. They dispersed after sometime.
