BANGALORE: Canara Bank knocked out Army Service Corps in the first match of the knock-out phase of the Travancore Cup hockey tournament here on Wednesday. Canara Bank scored a 3-2 win in the quarterfinal with Appanna (6th), Somanna (33rd) and Ronald Kiran (60th) scoring for the winner and Deepu (4th & 22nd) scoring a double for the loser. In the second match, Karnataka State Police booked a slot in the semifinal beating Indian Telephone Industries 4-1. Shivakumar (14th) and Roshan (23rd) scored off penalty corners and Rajshekar (48th) and Umesh Mutgar (50th) added to the winning tally.
