R. Krishnamurthy CHENNAI: A Magistrate Court in Egmore has sentenced Dinamalar Editor R. Krishnamurthy and its publisher R. Lakshmipathi to undergo three months’ simple imprisonment in a defamation case filed by a retired headmaster of a government school. A. Sethuraman, who worked as headmaster of the Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Oothukottai, filed a complaint against Dinamalar for publishing a news item on March 16, 2001 stating that he helped students to indulge in copying in the public examination. SuspendedFollowing the publication of the report, he was placed under suspension.
