Sterlite bags three awards

Tuticorin: The Sterlite Industries Limited, Tuticorin unit, has bagged three state awards for safety, from the Inspectorate of Factories for 2005.

T. Sargunan, General Manager (Health Safety), received the awards on behalf of the firm from Labour Minister T. M. Anbarasan, in Chennai recently.

Sources said that the company stood first in the category of longest accident-free man-hours and second in lowest accident frequency rate as well as in highest reduction of accident rate when compared to 2004.
