MUMBAI: After closing at tantalisingly close to sub-40 level in the past two sessions, the Indian rupee on Friday moved back to 39 mark against the dollar after a month. At the interbank foreign exchange market, the local currency closed the day at 39.89/90, a gain of 20.50 paise against its previous close. The domestic unit opened lower at 40.12/13 a dollar from its Thursday’s close of 40.0950/1050. It later recovered and breached the 40 level to end the day at 39.89/90, a gain of 20.50 paise.
