Tuticorin in last four

Tuticorin: Host and defending champion Tuticorin recorded its second win defeating Chennai 52-35 in the three-team Group ‘A’ league and qualified for the semifinals of the 27th annual all-India Major Ports basketball tournament here on Friday.

The results (league): Group ‘A’: Tuticorin 52 (Pechi 22) bt Chennai 35 (Arumugam 13); Chennai 71 (Murugavel 24, Sivathanu 16) bt Goa 42 (Nicholas 12, Augustin 10).

Group ‘B’: Kolkata 60 (Mondal 10, Chandhry 11) bt Vishakapatnam 33 (Mohan Reddy 10). — Sports Correspondent
