Women urged to avail themselves of government schemes

Coimbatore: Women should make use of various government schemes and projects to achieve self-reliance, Mayor R. Venkatachalam said here on Friday.

He was speaking at a function organised by the Corporation to mark the Golden Jubilee Urban Self Employment Promotion Scheme.

Deputy Mayor N. Karthik asked women to take the initiative and the civic body would stand by them in all their endeavours.

P. Nachimuthu, Chairman of the Corporation Health Committee; S. Asokan, General Manager of District Industries Centre; P.T. Kalaiselvan, District Lead Bank Manager; City Health Officer, M. Thangaraj; and Assistant City Health Officer, P. Aruna; among others spoke.
