CHENNAI: South Africa’s coach Mickey Arthur said the visitors had no answer to Sehwag’s knock. “This is the best Test innings I have ever seen. The way he played today was absolutely amazing. We tried to attack him, we defended against him, tried to bowl straight, wide, over the wicket, round the wicket… did everything possible, but he countered us. “On Thursday night, I looked at every possible scenario that could develop and this wasn’t one. I didn’t think in my wildest dreams that they would score at such a rate.” The coach hoped thoughts of 400 would affect Sehwag’s batting. “Sehwag’s going to start thinking about 400 and could play into our hands. I do think the second new ball on Saturday is going to be quite crucial. I think if we can use it well for the first 15 overs, hopefully we can nip a couple out and change the tempo.” — Sports Reporter © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
