Kakinada: The Zilla Grandhalaya Samstha (ZGS) is acquiring books and journals worth about Rs. 50 lakhs to supply the same to the district central library and its branches, according to ZGS Chairman B. Prasada Raju.

It has also resolved to make payments for other material purchased as per the recommendations of purchase and verification committee in 2007-08. Speaking at the general body meeting of the ZGS on Friday, Raju said that steps were being taken to improve the collection of books, periodicals and other material.
