Sajan’s century helps Kids crush Rovers

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A fine century by Sajan Salil (144) enabled Cycle Brand Kids CC crush Rovers CC by 150 runs in the Canara Bank-TDCA ‘A’ division cricket league at the Medical College ground here on Monday.

The scores: Cycle Brand Kids CC 251 in 43.4 overs (Sajan Salil 144, Kannan 43) bt Rovers CC 101 in 22.2 overs (Biswajith five for 53).

Rising Star scrapes through

Rising Star CC squeezed out a one-wicket win over Karamana Recreation Club ‘B’ in the Canara Bank-TDCA ‘C’ division cricket league here on Monday.

The scores: KRC ‘B’ 221 for nine in 45 overs lost to Rising Star CC 225 for nine in 43.5 overs (Jibin 64, R.S. Dileep 51, Ganesh four for 52).

Big win for Silence

Silence CC thrashed Little Masters CC by 10 wickets in the Thiruvananthapuram district ‘D’ division cricket league here on Monday.

The scores: Little Masters CC 96 in 20.1 overs (Santosh Mathew six for 18) lost to Silence CC 97 for no loss in 9.4 overs (Shafeek 50 n.o.).

Football coaching camp

A football coaching camp, jointly organised by the Ernakulam District Sports Council and the Great Kochi Football Academy, will be held at the Xaverian Ground in Kaloor from April 7. Kottayam triumphs

Kottayam men and women emerged triumphant in the Kerala State senior wrestling championship which concluded in Kochi on Sunday.

The winners: Men: V.S. Arun (Tvm, 55 kg), V. Pratheesh (Knr, 60 kg), K.G. Renjith (Ktm, 66 kg), M. Ramsheed (Ktm, 74 kg), P.J. David Philip (Tvm, 84 kg), Suhail Amjum (Idk, 96 kg), Alias M. Ali (Ktm, 120 kg).

Team championship: 1. Kottayam, 2. Idukki, 3. Thiruvananthapuram.

Cricket trials

Trials to select the district under-16 cricket team will be held at the KPK Menon memorial ground, Jawahar Nagar, Thiruvananthapuram, at 8 a.m. on April 5. Players born on or after September 1, 1992, are eligible. Interested players should register their names at the TDCA office between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. before April 4, said a TDCA release.
