Stevedores’ Association celebrates jubilee

Kakinada: The Kakinada Port Stevedores’ Association (KPSA), which has been playing an instrumental role in the development of the anchorage and deep-water ports here, celebrated its silver jubilee on Tuesday.

Union Minister of State for Defence and Kakinada MP MM Pallam Raju participated as the chief guest.

On the occasion, Mr. Pallam Raju complimented the association for its valuable contribution to phenomenal growth of Kakinada port, which took the lead among all minor ports in the country in cargo handling.

He exuded confidence that the association would continue its support to Kakinada port whose strength has a catalytic role to play in all-round development of the coastal belt.

Krishna Zilla Parishad Chairman K Nageswara Rao was the special guest. He congratulated the KPSA for the rapid strides it made in the last few years.

KPSA President V Jagannadha Rao, Visakhapatnam Stevedores’ Association President KV Krishna Kumar, Cocanada Chamber of Commerce Chairman D Surya Rao, Kakinada Port Stevedore Staff and Workers Union General Secretary P Nookaraju, Kakinada port officer A Diwakara Rao, Kakinada Seaports Pvt Ltd. General Manager M Muralidhar and others took part.
