One killed in accident

ALAPPUZHA: One person was killed and another seriously injured when a tipper lorry hit the two-wheeler on which they were travelling near Cherthala on Wednesday morning.

According to the police, P. Sajeevan, 37, a native of Chennampallipuram in Cherthala and his friend Reju, Tharayil House, were travelling on Reju’s two-wheeler, when a tipper lorry hit the motorbike at around 9 a.m. near the Ottapunna Junction.

Although Sajeevan was taken to the KVM Hospital, Cherthala, he could not be saved.

When reports last came in, Reju was undergoing treatment at the Cherthala Taluk Hospital.

Sajeevan, a construction worker, is survived by his wife, Bindu, and two children.
