Group clash: cases filed against 58 RSS cadres

DINDIGUL: Cases were filed against 58 members of RSS when they picketed roads in three places here on Wednesday condemning the arrests of party functionaries in connection with a quarrel between two sections of people.

The cadres picketed on Palani Road near Sellandi Amman Temple Street, Nagal Nagar and before the central bus stand demanding release of the arrested party functionaries.

Lathi-charge

Police resorted to mild lathi charge to disperse the picketers.

People belonging to two religions had quarrelled with each other over unannounced change of name of Sellandi Amman Temple Street.

Eight persons on both sides were arrested on Tuesday night.
