TDP, Congress ignore people’s issues: Dattatreya

Staff Reporter

“Discussion on MLAs’ landholdings is of no interest to common man”

GUNTUR: The ruling Congress and the Opposition Telugu Desam have totally forgotten the people’s agenda by not taking up any of those issues on the floor of the House, but restricting their debate to personal allegations, Bharatiya Janata Party State president Bandaru Dattatreya said here on Thursday.

The BJP leader, who was here to attend the two-day orientation classes for the party workers, told reporters that it was a pain to see both Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and Opposition leader N. Chandrababu Naidu indulging in personal abuse and not bothering to discuss any of the issues of public interest.

Discussion on personal land holdings of the MLAs from 1976 was of no interest to the common man and that discussion could have been curtailed while giving more time to addressing farmers’ issues, , Mr. Dattatreya said.

The government was unable to instil confidence among people of the State with its policies and its promise to complete 45 lakh houses by March-end seemed untenable statement.

“When the government could not complete 18 lakh houses in four years, how can it complete 45 lakh houses by March-end?” he questioned. The district party leader Y. Raghunatha Reddy was present on the occasion.
