Central team to visit Cuddalore

CUDDALORE: A Central team led by Dharmendra Sharma, Deputy Secretary, Union Ministry of Home Affairs, will visit Cuddalore on Sunday.

It will inspect the rain-affected areas, a statement from the Collectorate said that the team would arrive by helicopter at Chidambaram and proceed by road to places such as Vayalur, Keerapalayam, Thiruvannanatham, Ennagaram, Ilayanatham, Marudhanallur, Palayam and Serthankudi.

According to estimates, crops on 89,450 hectares were destroyed in the recent rain.
