SINGAPORE: Commending the idea of attracting foreign tourists through a system of visa on arrival, Tourism and Culture Minister Ambika Soni said here on Saturday that the Ministry was “working very hard to facilitate quicker visas.” Presiding over the events of the “Incredible India@60” festival here and also addressing the press, Ms. Soni said she was engaging the Home Ministry to realise the possibility.
India and Singapore were now discussing a memorandum of understanding on culture, and the two were also exploring the possibility of setting up an Indian heritage centre here, she said. Lee Boon Yang, Singapore Minister for Information, joined Ms. Soni and Indian High Commissioner S. Jaishankar to inaugurate a cultural show named ‘India@Orchard’ here. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
