Chitradurga: Chandrashekhar Shetty, Vice-Chancellor of Devraj Urs Medical College, Kolar, said on Saturday that there was a need for drastic changes in the field of medicine to keep pace with the latest developments and meet global standards. Speaking at the second Graduation Day function at SJM Medical College here, he said that they were several areas in the field of medicine which had to be revived. He said that the medical curriculum had to be updated to match with the latest techniques and the educational pattern of the developed counties. The curriculum should be changed at least once in three years. Dr. Shetty said that a two-way evaluation system should be introduced, where students and teachers evaluated each other for better understanding. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
